Welcome to "The Revival Room"

Step in. Breathe deep. Begin again.

Hi, I'm glad you're here. As you've guessed, I'm Allison of "LifeCoachAlli". As I was contemplating what to write in my next blog, I realized I never properly introduced myself.

Out here, with nothing but sky and sea, I’m reminded of how far I’ve come — not just in miles, but in mindset. Growth isn’t always loud… sometimes it looks like stillness. #BeYouFully #Revive #LifeCoachAlli

So, about me....

I'm a daughter, mother, sister and widow. My husband, Rick, passed away from cancer of the appendix on August 14, 2021. Our marriage lasted 41 years. We were high school sweethearts; I was 14 and Rick 16 when his friend, Albert, introduced us. In Rick's version of our story, he was the three-sport-athlete whom I dreamily followed around campus everywhere. My version is that although Rick played football, basketball and baseball, I wouldn't have known who he was even if he had walked right past me. As you can guess, we both had lots of fun over the years telling our competing stories whenever we were asked how we met.

The two of us had three children: Derek, Alaina and Richard Jr. Derek and his wife, Deandra, have given me two grandchildren, 3-year-old Demiyah and 1-year-old Deion. As my mom said, having grandchildren is like having your children all over again, only without the responsibility. So true and, needless to say, I love being a grandmother.

From Corporate America to Life Coach

Can you believe I worked for the same employer for 43 years (I began in high school part-time through the school's Vocational Education program). I know it sounds crazy, but honestly, I loved my time in insurance. Whenever I got bored with my position, I just applied for another one which means that I experienced multiple positions in multiple departments. My favorite job was as a coach to mid-level managers. It was in that experience that I realized my ideal job was as a life coach. When I decided to retire early in 2022, I was already attending graduate school. Upon graduation in 2023 with a Master of Science in Positive Psychology, I began my second act as a life coach.

Do You Know Your Destination?

As a pre-teen, I used to watch The Bob Newhart Show. That's where I got the idea of becoming a psychologist. For various reasons, I never pursued that career. Still, here I am all these years later in a complementary role. Isn't life funny? I love what I do! And I appreciate the circuitous route that brought me here.

Reflecting on my journey, I see how much I have grown. It's not just about the evolution from retiree to life coach, but the evolution into being fully who I am, And as my full self, I am asking you to trust me as your life coach. I want to help you to Be You. Fully. Schedule your complementary Strategy Call now to learn how I can help.
