Life coaching for women navigating widowhood, divorce, and other life transitions
I believe every woman deserves to stay in relationship with herself through every season of life.
Widowhood, divorce and other major transitions can turn everything upside down. Suddenly the roles, routines, and plans that defined you are gone, and the question underneath it all is, "Who am I now?" I know that question well. I also know the answer isn't something you have to invent. It's something you can reconnect with.
I'm Allison Ivey Smith, and I coach women through life's biggest transitions. Together, we connect you with your values and strengths, so you can rediscover your joy, reclaim the power of your voice, and show up as who you truly are.
Along the way, you build something lasting: trust in yourself, so you can choose what comes next.
Why I Believe in This Work
I've experienced the profound changes that come with losing a spouse. I know what it's like when a life you knew no longer looks or feels the same.
But I've also learned what happens to us doesn't have to define all of who we are.
Before becoming a life coach, I spent 44 years in corporate America, much of that time helping people learn, grow and recognize their own capabilities. My education in positive psychology and my training as a profession coach deepened something I had come to believe through both my work and my own life.
We are more than the roles we fulfill, the relationships we have, or the circumstances we experience.
And even when life changes in ways we never expected, we can continue to know ourselves, trust ourselves and make choices that reflect who we truly are.

How I Work With You
My work is guided by five values: dignity, self-determination, authenticity, compassion, and integrity.
I create space for you to explore what matters to you, recognize the strengths you already possess, and examine the expectations, assumptions, and habits that may be influencing your choices.
There's no judgment, no rushing, and no one telling you who to become. We make room for uncertainty, difficult emotions, and imperfection.
We explore the difference between what you've come to believe you should do and what you genuinely want for yourself.
Because this is your life. Your voice matters. And your choices belong to you.
A Life That Reflects Who You Are
I believe there's hope for a life lived with authenticity, power, and joy.
Authenticity means knowing yourself, trusting yourself, and having the freedom to show up as you are, even when others see things differently.
Power means recognizing that your voice matters. You can listen to others, consider their perspectives, and still speak and choose for yourself.
Joy doesn't mean a life that's free from disappointment, sadness or uncertainty. It means those experiences don't have to occupy every moment of your life. There's room for joy, too.
You don't have to have everything figured out before you begin.
You can learn to trust yourself to make a decision, experience its outcome, and decide again.
Let's Begin
If you're in a season of change and ready to connect with yourself, I'd love to walk beside you.
Be You. Fully.
